News about Ladies of Grace Dolls

Ladies of Grace go global

I received this lovely comment form one of my regular customers today.

“These dolls are great for little girls and what a wonderful way to introduce God’s word into a home for the curiosity of children will cause them to inspect the doll from top to toe and very soon they will find the bible verse and want to know all about it.  I have given away quite a few of these dolls so they are now even in Africa and Canada.  They are loved by the wee ones who have them and their Mums have had to find the verse for them and  I am praying that it won’t stop there.”

Thank you.

Special order.

I have just made my first personalised order. A Sarah doll dressed in a blue fluffy ‘onesey’. It is for a little baby boy called Jacob. We picked Sarah because she was Jacobs Grandma in the Bible and this will be from Baby Jacobs Grandma! Clever little link there.  I left off the bow in the hair and designed this little blue suit with a tail.

As I keep saying I cannot do different names at the moment but I can personalise them.                                                                                                                                                         Valerie

At a recent Craft Fair I was at I noticed lots of the stalls had bunting – so guess what my stall has now got! I found this brilliant Russian Doll material which I was going to use to make some more nighties but decided to use for bunting – I just made quite a lot!!

I will be at Uppermil Civic Hall on Sunday 2nd November at the Saddleworth Crafters Craft Fair. 10.00 till 4.00 admission free. Come a say hello.                                                           Valerie

Every lady needs a handbag

I regularly get suggestions for my dolls. Some are good some are not. The nightie from one of my young customers and I really like that. I have just bought some more really pretty material to make up. At my last craft fair a lady suggested a hat, but that not too easy but I did like her other suggestion and have gone with that. What does every lady need – a handbag of course! But then what colour? So I played safe and have made some red handbags to match her shoes. They cost £1.00. Hope you like them. Valerie

News of Recent Events….

Hi, I am still on a high after a brilliant time at ECG Scarborough 1st to 5th May. This was the first time I have had a stall at a big Christian event and was bit of a test for me and my dolls.

Everyone loved them and understood what they were about. I sold 36 dolls and started a trade in extra outfits – something I will expand on now. I made lots of new friends of all ages but especially some lovely little girls who passed me everyday with their dolls and waved or said hello. One little girl even bought a bag with blanket to carry her doll in.

Dolls were bought as encouragement gifts, preaching tools and of course to be loved and played with, any little person buying one had to promise to love them.

I could not have done the stall without the help of my wonderful sister in law Kath, who proved to be quite a good sales person. We have some photographs but unfortunately did not check them at the time so are not very good – lesson learnt! (Spot the sigh hanging off -another lesson)

I look forward to being at the regional ECG Day in July at Sunderland Stadium of Light on Saturday 12th July. Hope to see you.

Have you had a look at my New Online Shop?

You can now view and purchase all six beautifully hand stitched Ladies of Grace dolls and dress them from a selection of carefully designed dresses and cardigans. My Mum knits the cardigans and she is getting very adventurous using different stitches as she was bored knitting stocking stitch all the time.

If you live in Oldham I can deliver direct to you. Choose your doll and outfit using the drop down boxes then email me. va.roscoe@yahoo.co.uk

I hope you enjoy having a look round the new shop and look forward to hearing from you soon.
